The funeral of a Dundee man allegedly murdered at a taxi rank in the early hours of New Year’s Day will take place later this month.
Brian Fox, 62, died at Ninewells Hospital following the incident on January 1.
He was found mortally wounded near the taxi rank around 1.15am.
Wes Reid and Adam Valentine are to stand trial later this year accused of murdering Mr Fox.
Mr Fox’s funeral is due to be held on Monday February 25 at Dundee Crematorium.
In a notice about the funeral plans, Mr Fox was described as a beloved son of the late William and Christina and a sorely missed brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle and “friend to many”.
The service starts at 1.30pm and family flowers only have been requested.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made by mourners at the crematorium.
Police spent several days attempting to identify Mr Fox in the days after
his death.
Reid, 19, of Newport Road, Tayport, and Valentine, 24, of Thurso Crescent, faced a petition at the sheriff court last month alleging that on New Year’s Day, at Nethergate, they punched Brian Fox, causing him to fall to the ground.
It is further alleged that after Mr Fox fell to the pavement, he was punched again.
Neither Reid nor Adam made any plea and the cases against them were fully committed for trial.
Both were remanded in custody pending further court dates being set.
A third accused, Shannon Sykes, also appeared in court with the pair facing charges of assault relating to alleged attacks in the moments leading up to the alleged murder.
