A man tried to rob a woman of her handbag in the city centre this morning.
Police have issued an appeal for witnesses to the incident, which happened at around 6.45am on March 16 on Union Street, outside The Bank Bar.
A man approached the female and a struggle ensued as he tried to steal her handbag. He made off, empty handed, in the direction of High Street.
The victim was not injured as a result of the incident.
The culprit is described as a while male around 5’6” in height and in his 30s.
He is said to be of medium build with facial hair. He was wearing a dark-hooded zipped top, light coloured trousers and white trainers at the time of the attempted robbery.
Police ask anyone who was in the area at the time who may have witnessed the struggle to contact them on 101, using the incident number PS-20190316-0936.
