Showbiz hopefuls in Tayside are being invited to try out for The Voice UK 2020 when the auditions come to Dundee on Tuesday.
Producers from the popular ITV talent show will be scouting for local talent at a showcase event in the Wild Rover pub on Perth Road between 4pm and 6pm.
An additional open mic event will be held in the Art Bar from 8pm.
The auditions are being supported by Aspire vocal coaching in Dundee, who are working with show producers to help them find talent in the area.
Aspire director Heather Finnie said: “We work with The Voice and other shows every year to showcase local talent.
“We put out a call for people to audition – these can be our students or other members of the public too.
“The showcase at the Wild Rover is a private event, so people need to contact us to book a slot, which is usually about 10 minutes.
“If anybody can’t make that, there is the open mic event, where you can just drop in.
“In previous years a lot of our students have made it to the next stage in the auditions, and this year we have loads and loads of members of the public interested too.”
Auditions from solo artists, duos and trios are being invited, with all styles of music welcomed.
Candidates are asked to prepare one song with either a backing track, an instrument or a capella, with all instruments and backing tracks to be provided by the candidate.
Heather said: “There are so many little gems in the area with great talent, so I’d encourage people to come along.
“The private showcase is nearly full to capacity, so I’m trying to extend the time slot to fit in more people. There is still plenty of space at the open mic event though.
“Auditioning is a great experience and provides an opportunity for exposure too.”
