Police are appealing for help after a substantial amount of money was stolen from three parking meters in Dundee.
Crooks struck at the meters, two in the East Port car park and one on nearby Queen Street, not far from the city centre between 8.30pm and 9pm on Monday.
The machines in East Port, near the Olympia swimming pool, are visible to drivers who are using North Marketgait and Blackscroft and Police Scotland believe that someone may have seen the offenders.
An amount of money was taken from each machine but the police are declining to say how much in total was stolen.
The machines appeared to be undamaged on Wednesday and working normally.
Dundee City Council looked to spend almost £190,000 on upgrading its parking meters across street and multi-storey car parks in the city earlier this year.
While in April the authority introduced the JustPark app which allows motorists to pay for parking in any on-street or council car park by using a debit card.
A council spokesman said: “If anyone has any information on these incidents we would appeal to them to contact the police.”
Anyone who saw someone acting suspiciously near near the parking meters, or near other meters in the area, is asked to contact the police on 101 or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 with the crime reference CR/9296/19.
