The son of a flying pioneer who made the first flight from Britain to India will give a talk on his ancestor in Dundee.
Gordon Stewart has penned the book Aviation Pioneer: Sergeant Thomas Brown First Flight UK to India 1919.
He will discuss the book in detail followed by a book signing and then refreshments at Dundee Museum of Transport.
Sergeant Thomas Brown set off on his historic flight on December 13 1918 with a crew of six and dog in a Handley Page V/1500.
The crew left England in the four engined heavy bomber and they headed through the Mediterranean, North Africa, and the Middle East.
They also flew through the Khyber Pass to drop a bomb on the palace of Amanullah Khan, the King of Afghanistan, in Kabul during the third Anglo-Afghan War.
Over the course of the journey Sergeant Brown kept a diary which Gordon Stewart used to write his book.
Upon leaving the RAF Sergeant Brown moved to Dundee where he became a school teacher.
The book will be on offer at the event on Wednesday, May 8, for £8.
Tickets for the event are £5 and it includes admission to the museum from 5pm and refreshments.
