The biggest-ever Dundee Dance Event (DDE) saw thousands of ravers flock to dozens of the city’s bars.
The main 12-hour party, which is the largest multi-venue dance event in the UK, kicked off on Sunday just before 3pm with most nightspots featuring DJs from across the country.

It’s considered one of the biggest parties of the year among UK dance music fans and saw the city’s streets spring to life throughout the day and night.
More bars than ever before were added to this year’s line-up with many newly opened venues joining in such as St Andrews Brewing Co, Sportsterz, La Cueva, Abandon Ship and Giddy Goose.
In total, 31 locations hosted 220 DJs and artists.
It culminated with the DDE Closing Party at Dundee University Students’ Union (DUSA) where around 3000 people packed out the only ticketed event.
Organiser Mike McDonald described the atmosphere as “like a carnival”.
“The event went so well,” he said.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many people in the streets here.
“I didn’t know if we could top last year but the atmosphere was just crazy.
“It was like a carnival. Every bar seemed to have queues of 50 people waiting to get in.
“Tinsmith and St Andrews Brewing Co were absolutely packed.”
For the first time in its 21-year history, the event featured live music on the Sunday with Italian Grill hosting the band Funk and Disorderly.
Revellers who lasted the pace were even welcomed to the closing party by fire eating entertainer Verity Power.
The Dundee Safe Zone bus partnered with the event with volunteers on hand for 12 hours to offer up help to anyone who needed it.
There was also some events held on Saturday to cater for different crowds with the Diaper Disco held at DUSA.
The hugely popular sold-out day featured activities for kids and adults alike to enjoy.
Another DDE event, the Festival of Soul was held on Saturday at the Bonar Hall with about 400 people attending.
Mike added: “Having the Diaper Disco and the soul event make it so inclusive.
“The kids looked like they were having so much fun.
“People have an amazing party of course in the main day on Sunday but the other events bring a different element to it.
“It’s great to see everybody getting involved in the weekend.
“The number of venues this year probably makes it the biggest musical event Dundee has ever seen.”
Alzheimer Scotland is the beneficiary of this year’s event.
One pound from each ticket sold for the closing party will go to the charity with the total raised expected to be announced in the next few days.
