Veterans in Dundee celebrated the city’s proud military history as they stepped out on Saturday for this year’s Armed Forces Day parade.
The City of Discovery was the first in Scotland to stage an Armed Forces Day parade in June 2006, albeit under the original title of Veterans’ Day.
Due to concerns over a lack of funding this year, the committee of the City of Dundee Combined Ex-Services Association, supported by Dundee City Council, decided to return to the original concept of a Veterans’ Day Parade.
Those taking part formed up at Dundee High School at around 10.45am before marching down Reform Street, turning left onto the High Street and then arriving at St Paul’s Cathedral shortly before 11am.
A service of thanksgiving and remembrance was held at the cathedral from 11am.
