A popular Dundee pub has been forced to close after a fire nearby caused a power cut.
Smoke was seen emerging from a building on Commercial Street, across from the McManus Art Gallery and Museum at about 4.40pm.
It was dealt with by firefighters on the scene but punters were later asked to leave the Counting House after a knock-on effect left the premises without power.
Police cordoned off the area around the fire-hit building, a vacant premises, and remain on the scene carrying out investigations.
Three appliances were called to the scene.
One office worker said: “ I think it’s an air conditioning unit on the back of the empty unit that used to be Transform Furniture.
“I work on The first floor and came out when I could smell smoke.
“The police and firies were already there. Thankfully it didn’t happen on Sunday.”
