Maintenance work affected water supplies to businesses on one of Dundee’s main thoroughfares.
Properties on Perth Road and across the wider DD1 and DD2 postcode areas were affected on Monday afternoon.
Scottish Water said loss of supply was due to “essential maintenance” in the city which affected “more customers than originally anticipated”.
One local resident reported being unable to get a coffee from cafes on Perth Road for a period of time.
Scottish Water tweeted: “We are carrying out essential maintenance in Dundee which is affecting more customers in #DD1 and #DD2 than originally anticipated.
“We do apologise for any inconvenience caused this afternoon. The repairs are estimated to be completed by 1.30pm.”
