CCTV footage revealed by The Courier shows a relentless Stobswell car vandal striking again despite an ongoing police investigation into a spate of incidents.
The man, believed to be in his 50s, has been caught on CCTV by cameras positioned outside Cardean Street funeral directors James Ashton and Son.
The brazen culprit can be seen in the video above this story scratching a Peugeot parked on the street on Tuesday, only the latest in at least a dozen similar incidents.
It is believed to be the fourth time the car, owned by funeral director Jamie Anderson, has been damaged in the same way.
Jamie, who has worked as a funeral director at the Stobswell branch for seven years, said he believes the same man is responsible for every incident.
He said: “The guy is causing thousands of pounds worth of damage. He needs to be caught.
“It’s going to cost me a fortune to fix my car, it’s wrecked. I don’t understand why he’s doing it.
“I parked up at work on Tuesday morning and by lunch time there was a big scratch on it again. I couldn’t believe it.
“We checked the CCTV and clear as day, you can see the guy doing it on purpose.
“His face is very clear too so I would expect he’s going to be caught soon.”
Several weeks ago, Gavin Reilly, also a funeral director at the same business, revealed the callous vandal had caused hundreds of pounds of damage to his car.
He had passed on video footage to the police but so far the man has dodged the attention of the authorities.
Jamie added: “It’s absolutely crazy.
“We thought maybe it was school kids at first but obviously now we have the footage of him.
“Practically every second vehicle on the street has some damage from him.
“It has been going on for months.
“He must be local as it’s always around about here it’s happening.”
Police Scotland has confirmed it is investigating the incidents.
