The feline was discovered in a carrier on East Dock Street, next to the Xplore Dundee garage at the Gallagher Retail Park. The male grey-and-white cat was found by a member of the public just a short distance away from the Cats Protection shelter on Foundry Lane. He was spotted on the street on Thursday, August 22. The Scottish SPCA is now investigating the incident. Abandoning animals is an offence under the Animal Health and Welfare (Scotland) Act 2006 and can lead to bans on keeping pets. Senior animal rescue officer at the Scottish SPCA Ben Soutar said: “The male cat was found in a fabric carrier by the gates of the Xplore Bus Garage. “When we arrived, we examined the cat and found him to be in a lean condition. “The cat is quite distinctive. He is grey and white with green eyes. “We are keen to find the person or persons responsible for abandoning this animal. “If anyone has any information, we would urge them to call our confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999.”
