Owners of a missing young hawk have appealed for help to secure its safe return.
Scott Ramsay and his wife Yvonne have been left “devastated” after the hawk went missing from their home in the Barns of Claverhouse area.
Scott was training the Harris hawk, Nancy, when it is thought she became spooked by a next door neighbour’s truck and flew away at around 9.30 on Monday morning.
After failed attempts to draw the bird back with his whistle, he is urging anyone who sees Nancy to get in touch
The eyas, which is only 17 to 18 weeks old, has been sighted around Trottick Ponds and Camperdown.
Scott said: “She took off from her perch and I had her on a short lead as I was training her.
“One of our neighbours was going away to work in his truck, which must have spooked her as she just took off.
“This is my first hawk, which makes us devastated to be losing her so suddenly. I got her to train her to do a bit of hunting and she was just coming up to the end of her training.”
Anyone who may have seen the hawk can contact Scott on 07768769920.
