Three men forced their way into a locked Dundee pub and robbed two female members of staff on Saturday morning.
The thieves made off with a three-figure sum of money – including the pub’s till and two charity collection tins – and personal items belonging to staff.
The incident happened around 2.30 in the morning when the trio forced the locked door of the Strath Bar on Strathmartine Road.
They demanded money from the two members of staff before running off with the till, collection tins and a handbag.
Police said the suspects ran off toward Wedderburn Street following the incident.
Detective sergeant Lucy Cameron of Dundee CID said: “Thankfully the two women, aged 33 and 61, were not injured but this was quite a frightening experience for them both.
“The men ran off with the pub’s till, two collections cans and a handbag so they would have been pretty obvious if seen by someone on the street at that time.
“Officers are checking CCTV and have been back in the pub and the street speaking to people in the area but we would also appeal to anyone who may have seen the men either hanging about the bar beforehand or maybe running off afterwards.

The first suspect is described as a white man aged between 30 adn 40 years old. He had a Dundee accent was wearing a light beige canvas jacket.
The second man is said to be in his mid to late 20s, about 5ft 8 in height and of skinny build. He also had a Dundee accent and was wearing a dark coloured zipped hooded top.
The final man was between 30 and 40 years old with a short beard.
He was wearing a light coloured baseball cap, checked shorts and a blue or grey canvas jacket.
