The Met Office has issued a weather warning for large parts of Courier Country with as much as two inches of rain forecast.
Heavy rain is expected to sweep across the local area in the early hours of Sunday morning before extending to northern and eastern England during the day.
The yellow warning for rain covers all of Perthshire, Dundee and the western parts of Angus and Fife. It is in place from midnight Sunday until 6pm that day.
The Met Office warning states: “Heavy rain is expected across parts of Scotland during Saturday night before extending to northern and eastern England during Sunday.
“Within the warning area many parts will see 15-30 mm (0.5-1 ins) of rain during Sunday with the potential for as much as 40-50 mm (1.5-2 ins) in places, much of this falling in a 6 hour period.
“At this stage, there is still some uncertainty regarding the location of where the heaviest rain will occur.”
It adds that the heavy rain may cause some transport disruption and flooding in places on Sunday.
Spray and flooding on roads will “probably” make journey times longer, with “flooding of a few homes and businesses likely”.
Some interruption to power supplies and other services is also considered likely.
