The Standing Stane Road in Fife was closed overnight after two cars were involved in a collision during adverse weather.
Police Scotland said the occupants of both vehicles involved in the incident on Friday night escaped serious injury.
Emergency services including police and ambulance were called to the A915 between Kirkcaldy and Leven at around 8.20pm.
At the time, there was water on the carriageway following torrential rain.
Police Scotland Control Rooms said in a tweet on Friday night that the road would be closed until around 9am on Saturday.

However, a police spokeswoman later said the extensive road closure was due to surface water on the carriageway.
