Armed police are in negotiations with a suspect as emergency services remain on the scene of a siege in Fife.
Officers with dogs have surrounded a house in Ballingry following an incident in the early hours of the morning.
Police swooped on the house in Kirktoun Gardens at around 4am Wednesday.
It is understood a man inside is refusing to come out. Eye-witnesses say that police are trying to coax a man from the property.
Firefighters, who were initially called out to a report of a fire shortly after 4.30am, are also at the scene along with paramedics and a number of police vehicles.
The area around the house, near the corner of Kirktoun Street, has been cordoned off and neighbours said they had been told to stay inside.
Police negotiators are at the scene, with officers shouting across the road to the house.

Although a cordon is 100m from the house, shouts of “come to the window” are audible from the outside.
At least one neighbour reported being escorted from her home by armed officers.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland is currently in attendance at Kirktoun Gardens in Ballingry following a disturbance.
“The incident is contained and there no risk to the wider public.
“Residents are thanked for their patience and understanding while the incident is ongoing.”
