Santa and his reindeer will arrive in Kirkcaldy on Sunday as the town’s festive celebrations swing into action.
He will lead the annual reindeer parade before settling into his grotto into the Mercat Shopping Centre.
The following Saturday the town’s Christmas lights will be switched on amid yuletide street festivities.
Sitting alongside Santa on Sunday will be seven-year-old Zoe Harbour, who won a competition with Kingdom FM.
Her mum Emma said: “Zoe is super excited to meet the real Santa and she’s counting down the days to her sleigh ride.”
Free antler hats and treats will be handed out during the procession, which will also feature stars of the Adam Smith Theatre pantomime and Kirkcaldy and District Pipe Band.
Children will then be able to tell Santa their Christmas wishes in his grotto.
Next Saturday, families entertainment will be provided in Charlotte Street before the lights are switched on.
The street will be closed to the traffic for the event, which replaces the lantern parade and fireworks display of previous years.
Kirkcaldy4All’s Christmas star trail and candy cane cocktail trail will also be launched. 30 stars decorated by local schoolchildren and artists will go on display in shop windows. For adults nine bars will offer special candy cane cocktails.
Stephen Roberts, Mercat Shopping Centre manager, said: “I’m delighted we’re working together with Kirkcaldy4All again this year for what is set to be a fantastic festive period across the town.
“There will be so much going on in and around the Mercat centre and Kirkcaldy town centre for families to get excited about and plenty of opportunities to take part and get involved.”
Bill Harvey, Kirkcaldy4All manager, said: “This is the third year we have worked with the Mercat at Christmas to bring some Christmas cheer to the town and help its local businesses.
“We have a whole programme of Christmas fun planned throughout November and December.
“We are grateful to all the town centre businesses and local schools for supporting these initiatives so enthusiastically and hope that the people of Kirkcaldy will also get behind us and come down to the High Street and enjoy what’s on offer in the run-up to Christmas.”
On Saturday, there will be star decorating workshops in the shopping centre.
The reindeer parade will start on Sunday at Thistle Street at 12pm.
Next Saturday’s entertainment in Charlotte Street will run from 4.30 to 6.30pm.
