Former Fife councillor Willie Clarke died on October 29 at the age of 84. He served the communities of Benarty for 43 years before stepping down in 2016, and was described as “a very loyal servant” and a great man. The former miner and trade unionist had been battling cancer for some time before his death. His funeral service took place at Lochore Miners’ Welfare Institute and Ballingry Cemetery. Mr Clarke is survived by his wife Betty, his sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
