A 37-year old man has been arrested in connection with the incident, which happened in the afternoon of November 13. Police were called to the scene near a pub at 4.10pm. While the man’s injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, they are serious. There was a heavy police presence on the street while initial inquires were carried out. A police spokeswoman said: “We were called to Dunfermline High Street following a report of a serious assault. “A 53-year old man was taken to Victoria Hospital with serious injuries and a 37-year old man has been arrested in connection with the incident. “Inquires are ongoing.”
