Alison Skene, a long established Fife company director, has died at the age of 72.
Alison was a founding member of the Skene Group company, serving continually on the main board for more than 52 years.
Born in Turriff in Aberdeenshire, she never lost her distinctive accent and was a true “Buchan quine”.
Alison, with her husband Donald, came to Fife in 1968.
The business roots were set down at Whitehill Industrial Estate in Glenrothes before establishing in Ladybank and the firm is now located in Glenrothes at Viewfield Industrial Estate.
Alison was a very welcoming and elegant lady, encouraging all board members throughout her long association with the family company.
She loved music and dancing and had many hobbies, one of which was motorbiking with Donald.
She was a keen pillion passenger and they travelled together around the UK and Europe, covering in excess of 80,000 miles.
She was also a great baker and her home-made treats will be missed by all that had the pleasure to sample them during the board meetings.
Alison’s funeral will take place at Freuchie Parish Church on Friday December 6 at 10am.
Interment thereafter will be at Falkland Cemetery with the cortege arriving at 11am.
All relatives and friends are respectively invited.
