A man is being treated in hospital after reports of a stabbing in the Fife village of East Wemyss.
The man was taken to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy after an incident in Alexander Street on Friday evening.
His injuries were described as serious.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “At around 7.25pm on Friday, police and emergency services were called to a report that a man had been seriously injured in Alexander Street, East Wemyss.
“He was taken to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy. Inquiries are ongoing.”
A section of Alexander Street was closed off while officers investigated the incident.
People living locally reported a flurry of police activity in the street, with a number of marked vehicles at the scene.
