A Dunfermline man who humiliated a female by pulling up her dress on a dance floor has been ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work.
Ryan McDonald, of Inchkeith Drive, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for sentencing.
The 19-year-old previously admitted that on an occasion between May 1 and 31, at the Legends pub at Dunfermline Athletic Football Club’s East End Park, he pulled up a female’s dress to expose her underpants and bottom and, on a separate occasion, he pulled down her dress exposing her bra and chest.
Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf told the court the incident took place at around 10pm when the dancefloor was busy.
The female was said to have been up dancing when McDonald walked past and suddenly grabbed her dress.
“He yanked it up exposing her pants and he was laughing,” Ms Yousaf said.
“She was left crying and embarrassed.
“She was so upset that she left the public house shortly afterwards.”
Defence solicitor Gwenn Haggerty said her client was remorseful and “disgusted” by his actions.
Sheriff Alastair Brown told McDonald his actions amounted to sexual harassment.
“You were deliberately creating a situation in which she was exposed,” Sheriff Brown added.
“It is demeaning, it is degrading, it is not funny, it is not fair and it won’t be tolerated.”
Sheriff Brown imposed a community payback order with 200 hours of unpaid work on McDonald.
