A Lochore man became involved in a disturbance after an egg was thrown at him as he walked along Dunfermline High Street.
Kieran Nelson, 20, of McGinlay Terrace, Lochore, appeared from custody at the town’s Sheriff Court.
He admitted the behaved in a threatening and abusive manner on November 24 by shouting, swearing and acting aggressively.
Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said: “At around 8pm voices were heard coming from a flat when the accused was walking past.
“Words were exchanged between him and people in the flat.
“He then shouted, swore, went into the stairwell and up to the flat.
“A picture frame was damaged during the incident.”
Defence solicitor James Moncrieff conceded his client “does not have an enviable record”.
However, he claimed on this occasion it was not Nelson who started the trouble.
“He was walking down the High Street when an egg was thrown in his direction,” said the solicitor.
“He went in to challenge them.
“He was upset about what had happened and things escalated from there.”
Sheriff James MacDonald said: “He’s got a bad record for offences of this nature.”
He deferred sentence on Nelson until a later date.
