A public meeting will be held at Giffordtown Village Hall this evening to discuss the “Melville pong”.
Representatives of the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (Sepa), Fife Council and the site operators are expected to attend, along with local councillors and local Lib Dem MSP Willie Rennie.
The meeting takes place from 7pm to 9pm.
The council was recently given a warning by Sepa over the offensive odour from Lower Melville Wood landfill site near Ladybank, which has affected several neighbouring communities.
Sepa said licence conditions had again been breached at the site and council company Fife Resource Solutions has been told to improve its management as quickly as possible to tackle the smell.
