Eight people were taken to hospital after a four-car pile up at a notorious accident black spot in Fife on Friday night.
Emergency services, including police and fire crews, were at the scene on the A915 Standing Stane Road, close to Wells Green, following the incident at about 8.20pm.
A spokesman for Police Scotland, said: “A call was received at 8.20pm to reports of a serious road traffic accident involving four vehicles on the A915 Standing Stane Road between Kirkcaldy and Leven.
“A total of eight people have been taken to Victoria Hospital following the incident. None of the injuries are thought to have been life-threatening.
“The road remains closed at this time to allow for the emergency services to attend the scene.”
An air ambulance was also dispatched to the scene but later stood down with all casualties taken to hospital by road.
A fire and rescue spokeswoman said: “We received a call at 8.20pm this evening to reports of a road traffic collision on the A915 in Fife.
“Two fire appliances were dispatched and are currently at the scene.”
The road was closed until late on Friday.
Local diversions were in place and motorists were advised to find alternative routes.
