A woman has been charged with murder following the death of a man in Kirkcaldy on Christmas Day.
Police were called to the upstairs flat in David Street after neighbours reported a disturbance at the quiet residential street in the Lang Toun shortly after 1pm on Christmas Day.
A spokesperson for the Procurator Fiscal confirmed Adriana Ciurar, 23, appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court yesterday charged with murder, following the death of a 25-year-old male at the David Street property.
Ciurar, who made no plea, was remanded in custody awaiting further examination and is scheduled appear again within the next eight days.
Some nine days on from the death, police and crime scene investigators remain at the property as enquiries continued.
A police letter appealing for anyone who saw people entering the property between noon on December 24 and 6pm the next day has also been circulated among residents.
In the letter, DS Simon Telford from the Major Investigation Team, also appealed for anyone who knew the occupants or visitors to the property since February 2019, or could give a detailed description to come forward.
Anyone with private CCTV of the area is also urged to contact officers.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 23-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a 25-year-old man in Kirkcaldy.
“The incident happened around 1.15pm on Wednesday, December 25, in the David Street area of the town.”
