Firefighters from all corners of Fife have been tackling an inferno at a farm building near Dunfermline since around 1pm today.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service crews from Dunfermline, Lochgelly, South Queensferry and Burntisland rushed to the blaze at a farm on Wagon Road in Crossford earlier this afternoon.
And when last updating The Courier just before 10pm, SFRS bosses say the teams will be there “for some time” yet as darkness has engulfed the burning building.
Rescuers say that they have received no reports of anybody being hurt in the fire, which they have had to send high reach equipment and a command support unit amongst the seven appliances on the scene.
A spokesperson for the service said: “SFRS were alerted at 1.08pm on January 3 to reports of a fire within a farm building on Wagon Road, Crossford.
“Operations control sent seven appliances to the scene and crews worked to extinguish the fire.”
