Proposals for a large housing development in Lochgelly have been given a boost after developers were told a separate environmental impact assessment (EIA) is not required.
Omnivale Limited had submitted a screening opinion request to Fife Council in advance of its application to create 142 new properties and associated facilities on land to the south of The Avenue.
However, the local authority has agreed with the developer’s view that it is not a “sensitive” site under planning regulations and that a specific EIA will not be needed.
The site is currently used for agricultural purposes, and two access points are proposed from The Avenue itself.
