A man has been taken to hospital “as a precaution” after being rescued from water near St Andrews.
Firefighters and police rushed to the scene at the Lade Braes just before 4.15pm on Wednesday.
A water rescue unit was among a number of emergency services vehicles parked on Argyle Street and Hepburn Gardens, near to the Kinness Burn.
Two pumps and two water rescue teams from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service helped the man to safety at around 5pm.
A police spokeswoman confirmed the man had not been seriously injured.
She said: “Police were called at 4.10pm to reports of concern for a person in the water near Lade Braes. Emergency services attended and the man was taken to hospital as a precaution.”
