Pupils at a Fife secondary school hit by fire on Monday will be back at their desks on Tuesday, it has been confirmed.
A ground floor corridor damaged by smoke during the small lunchtime blaze at Bell Baxter in Cupar, is expected to remain closed, as a clean-up continues.
Classes affected could include English and modern studies and alternative arrangements will be made for pupils due to study there if necessary.
More than 1,500 children and 150 staff were safely evacuated when the fire was discovered in a toilet at the Carslogie Road school shortly before noon.
Smoke was reportedly seen pouring from the building as youngsters made their way outside.
Three fire appliances raced to the scene and quickly extinguished the fire, which was contained to the toilet block.
Crews remained at the school for some time to ensure the area was safe.
Police also attended but have yet to confirm whether they are investigating the circumstances.
Fife Council confirmed no-one was injured during the drama and said it would be business as usual at the school on Tuesday, apart from a cordon possibly remaining in place in the one affected corridor.
In a message to parents, service manager Neil Finnie said: “There was a small fire in one of the toilets which has been dealt with by our heroes at Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.”
He said all children had been allowed to have lunch and then return to the school.
“The building was evacuated quickly and safely and the fire was dealt with by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service,” he said.
“The children are all back in the building and it will be business as usual for the school tomorrow.”
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were alerted at 11.54am on Monday January 13 to reports of a fire within a school in Cupar.
“Operations control mobilised three fire appliances to the town’s Carslogie Road, where crews were met by a fire on the building’s ground floor.
“The building was evacuated prior to the arrival of firefighters and there are no reported casualties.”
A police spokesperson added: “Officers were alerted about a small fire in the toilets at Bell Baxter High School in Cupar just before noon today.
“Fire and Rescue Service attended and there are no reports of any injuries.”
They could not say if the fire was being treated as suspicious.
