Emergency services rushed to the scene of a road accident at Carnock, near Dunfermline.
Two cars collided on the A907 at around 12.40pm on Thursday.
No one was badly hurt in the crash and those involved were out of the vehicles, one of them a Dacia, before firefighters arrived.
The male driver of one of the cars was checked at the scene by paramedics but it is not clear whether he was taken to hospital.
Police, paramedics and firefighters were called to deal with the incident which blocked the road between Carnock and Gowkhall for almost two hours.
A police spokesman said: “We were called at 12.40pm to a two-car road traffic collision at Carnock Road, Dunfermline.
“Police, the ambulance and fire service are all in attendance.”
A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Service Rescue said the two crews it sent from Dunfermline were stood down after around 40 minutes.
He said: “We got the call at 12.39 pm to a two-car road traffic collision. We had two appliances from Dunfermline there. They left at 1.20pm.
“Everyone was out of the vehicles when we arrived.”
Stagecoach said its buses had been diverted via Saline as a result of the A907 being blocked at Carnock.
Due to an incident in Carnock the road in and out of the village is blocked. All 4 services will be diverting via Saline into Gowhall. We will update you all when more information comes in. Thanks.
