Volunteers sought for emergency beach clean at St Andrews after rubbish washed up

An emergency beach clean is to be carried out on the West Sands in St Andrews on Wednesday after a high tide resulted in rubbish being washed up.

Staff from the town’s Old Course Hotel have already picked up some of the seaborne detritus but Fife Coast and Countryside Trust is looking for volunteers to help complete the work.

Helpers should meet a ranger team at beach entrance 13 at 10.30am before making their way to the affected area.
