Tributes have been made to a missing Edinburgh woman whose body is thought to have been found on a Fife beach earlier today.
The family of Irene McArthur, who went missing from the Little France area of Edinburgh shortly after midnight on February 12 posted the news on social media.
Ms McArthur’s niece thanked ‘every single person’ who searched for her aunt and shared news of the appeal to find her on Facebook.
A spokesman for Police Scotland, confirmed: “We received reports of a woman’s body being found on Lower largo beach at 10.30am on Sunday, February 16.
“Formal identification is yet to take place but we can confirm that the family of Irene McArthur has now been notified.”
A police appeal was launched on Thursday after family members became ‘increasingly concerned’ for the 59-year-old’s welfare.
