A man is being treated in hospital for potentially life threatening injuries after a road accident in Fife.
The casualty was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary following a collision involving a car and a van on the B914 near Kelty on Thursday morning.
Police, ambulance and fire crews were scrambled to the scene at around 7.30am.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “Police responded to a report of a two vehicle crash involving a car and a van on the B914 near Blairadam Forest at Kelty around 7.30am on Thursday, March 5.
“Emergency services attended and a man was taken by ambulance to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with potentially life threatening injuries.
“The other male driver suffered what appeared to be minor injuries.
“The road remains closed and inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.”
Motorists have been advised to avoid the area and local diversions are in place.
