Linburn Dental Practice in Dunfermline is to reopen after closing temporarily following two cases of coronavirus.
A thorough deep clean of the building has been carried out in recent days and the practice will now reopen offering a limited service.
The practice has been working alongside NHS Fife’s public health team and offered public health support and advice.
Both of the confirmed cases remain well and are recovering at home.
Deputy director of public health, Dr Esther Curnock, said: “Linburn Dental Practice acted quickly and took all reasonable steps to protect the health of staff and visitors to the facility.
“NHS Fife has been working closely with the practice over recent days and wishes to reiterate that the risk of any of patient contracting coronavirus whilst visiting the practice remains low.”
Fiona MacFadzean, dentist at Linburn Dental Practice, added: “On behalf of the practice, we very much appreciate the understanding shown by patients and staff over recent days.
“The safety of our patients and staff is paramount and briefly closing the practice was the only reasonable course of action we could take in the circumstances. This has enabled us to complete a thorough deep clean of the building over recent days.
“The practice has now reopened and will be offering a limited service over the coming week or so until we have our full complement of staff available to return to work.”
