Organisers of the Loch Ore Beast Race, which was due to be held in Fife for the first time ever this year, have confirmed it too has fallen foul of coronavirus-related restrictions.
The event, which centred around an epic 12km obstacle course around the banks of the loch, was due to go ahead on May 30 and 31.
However, those running the event have now confirmed “with great sadness” that it has had to be postponed until another date.
A statement read: “As you may already be aware the Scottish Government, due to the current coronavirus pandemic, announced that mass public gatherings of over 500 people are to be cancelled to reduce any additional pressure on emergency services.
“This definition includes the Loch Ore Beast Race and as a responsible Scottish owned event organiser we are obliged to do our part to reduce any pressure on emergency services.
“Whilst the end of May is still some time away we think it is highly improbable the situation will have improved by then.
“Ticket holders will be given the opportunity to transfer their ticket to another Beast Race event later this year or have their entry deferred to the rescheduled Loch Ore Beast Race.”
Organisers say all ticket holders of the Loch Ore Beast Race will receive an email with their options, while the events at Loch Ness on August 29 and Banchory on September 26 are still going ahead as planned.
A replacement date will be announced as soon as possible.
