A Fife high school has called for pupils to stay at home for the rest of this week due to staff shortages.
Kirkcaldy High School has this afternoon sent messages to parents and carers of all S1 and S2 pupils requesting that they remain at home on Thursday and Friday due to a “very significant staff absence”.
The message sent read: “We are now in the unfortunate position, due to a very significant staff absence, of having to close the school for pupils in S1 and S2 tomorrow (Thursday) and Friday.
“In short: please keep your son/daughter at home tomorrow and Friday if they are in first or second year.”
However, the school has confirmed pupils who qualify for free school meals will still be able to attend the school at lunch times to receive their meal.
