Kirkcaldy Foodbank has issued an urgent appeal for volunteers.
The organisation needs more people to keep the service going during the challenging coronavirus outbreak.
The charity, which has had to change its opening times to deal with the crisis, has also appealed for people to keep handing in food following a significant reduction in donations, despite an increase in demand.
Chairwoman Joyce Leggate said volunteers had been struggling to source UHT milk and various tinned goods as locals stock up their own cupboards.
She warned the region’s most needy could suffer unless donations increased and urged people to place items in designated trolleys in supermarkets.
“I would really appeal to members of the public that if you are buying two or three of things, or even more than that, to just stop and think and drop something in the foodbank trolleys situated at all the supermarkets,” she said.
“We really, really can’t survive without donations from the public in Kirkcaldy.”
