Funeral services across Fife are to be restricted to “just five or six people”.
As part of Fife Council’s response to the national advice, the local authority says it is restricting the number of people attending funeral services at its cemeteries and crematoriums.
It is understood funeral directors have been told those attending should be “in the region of five of six” and restricted to immediate family.
With immediate effect, all funerals in Fife are to be limited to the to the crematorium or cemetery and families have been asked to travel in their own cars.
Alan Paul, senior manager said: “We’ve taken this decision to prevent further spread of the virus.
“We ask for the public’s understanding and co-operation during these challenging times.
“We’ll be continuously monitoring and reviewing these arrangements as the national situation changes.”
