Firefighters were called to deal with a vehicle fire in a Fife town in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Police said they were alerted to the incident on the Drying Green in Kennoway Den, a local woodland on the outskirts of Kennoway, at 6.10am, and a number of fire appliances were called to extinguish the blaze.
A large area of woodland is thought to have been damaged as a result of the fire, although no-one was injured.
The Jeep involved in the incident is said to have been completely destroyed.
A full investigation is under way, but one local resident reported being woken up at around 5.15am to the sound of a car horn followed by what he described as “explosions”.
A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed: “We received report of a vehicle on fire at Kennoway Den, Kennoway around 6.10am.
“Emergency services are at the scene and no-one was injured as a result of the fire.”
