Fife’s annual celebration of equality and diversity has been cancelled due to ongoing concerns about the spread of coronavirus.
Fife Pride was due to take place in Kirkcaldy on July 4, when a colourful parade would culminate with an afternoon and evening’s entertainment in Kirkcaldy Town Square.
The event has grown in stature over the years, but a spokesperson for the organisers have confirmed that this year’s spectacular simply cannot go ahead.
“Due to circumstances beyond our control the Fife Pride Team have taken the decision to cancel Fife Pride on the 4th of July 2020,” they said.
“We will continue to monitor the situation and if anything changes we will let you know.
“Let’s all keep playing our part in this by continuing to follow the guidelines and supporting all of our front line workers and protecting our NHS.
“We hope you and your families are all well. Stay safe, stay well and we look forward to seeing you at the next Fife Pride.”
