A man has been arrested following a disturbance at a house in Buckhaven.
Squads of police descended on Shakespeare Avenue on Wednesday afternoon.
No one was hurt but a 32-year-old man was removed from the property and is expecte to appear in court in Falkirk on Thursday.
Locals reported seeing armed officers and police with shields.
There were a number of police vans and cars at the scene, after the alarm was raised just before 3.30pm.
A police spokesman said: “Police were made aware of a disturbance within a property on Shakespeare Avenue in Buckhaven around 3.25pm on Wednesday, April 8.
“A 32-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
“He is expected to appear at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Thursday, April 9.
“Nobody was injured.
“The local community are thanked for their understanding while this incident was resolved.”
