People have been urged to dispose of their dogs’ waste properly.
Councillor Ken Caldwell said he noticed a lot of discarded bags during a walk alongside the River Leven.
The Buckhaven, Methil and Wemyss villages councillor said it was good to see people exercising safely but horrifying to see so many ditched waste bags.
He said: “We are working hard to get improvements made to the paths around the river and other areas of Levenmouth, but the feedback I’m getting is that this is a widespread problem.
“It’s great to see more people using our great outdoors, but I would ask people to respect the countryside, other users and those who work on the land.”
