A popular Fife bakery has ceased trading with the loss of 60 jobs.
William McMillan Limited, which trades as Carlton Bakeries based in Dysart and operated 10 retail shops across Fife, has blamed the ongoing coronavirus crisis for forcing the company into liquidation.
It’s understood staff were informed by letter on Wednesday of the company’s demise.
The company said it had been adversely affected by the coronavirus restrictions which has made its financial position unsustainable.
The firm had been a mainstay on Fife high streets since it was founded in 1942.
Stores in Glenrothes, Leven and Kirkcaldy have now been closed permanently.
