Loaves have been baked for hospitals by Fisher and Donaldson.
A Fife bakery has thanked hard-pressed NHS staff by delivering free bread to their workplaces.
Fisher and Donaldson is preparing around 2000 loaves for workers at local hospitals.
The first delivery of special honey and spelt loaves has been made to Ninewells Hospital, in Dundee, and supplies will also be dropped off at Adamson Hospital, Cupar, and St Andrews Community Hospital.
Cupar-based Fisher and Donaldson has closed its shops and cafes in north-east Fife and Dundee as a result of coronavirus restrictions but is continuing to run a delivery service, which is already being used by around 200 customers.
Director Eric Milne said he was delighted when German supplier IREKS offered to donate many of the ingredients for the NHS bread.
He said: “Both companies wanted to do something to support the fantastic work being done by NHS staff at this very difficult time.
“They deserve all the help, encouragement and heartfelt thanks they can get.
“Every single one of them is just amazing.”
A number of the firm’s bakers continue to work overnight in the Cupar headquarters to ensure a supply of freshly-baked products during the Covid-19 crisis.
