Fifers wanting answers to quick queries about Fife Council services are being urged to use the local authority’s webchat service.
With many employees as possible working from home, the council is dealing with emergency calls only in its contact centre.
However, customers who would like to be able to speak to someone straight away – in the way that they would usually do through a phone call – are being reminded that they can also get in touch with the council via webchat at www.fife.gov.uk.
Questions about bins, housing repairs, registration, rent or other council services can all be answered Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm by clicking the chat button online.
A Fife Council spokesperson added: “It’s not a robot…it’s real people from our contact centre team who will be there to help and if they don’t know the answer, they’ll know someone who does.”
