Police in Fife are treating the death of a man in a Fife street yesterday evening as “unexplained”.
Officers were alerted after the body of a man was found in Alexander Road in the Auchmuty area of Glenrothes last night.
Police and paramedics were despatched to the scene and the road closed off for a number of hours while officers launched an investigation into the incident.
Police are continuing to treat the death as unexplained ahead of the results of a post mortem due to be carried out today.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland, said: “Police Scotland was made aware of the sudden death of a 29-year-old man on Alexander Road in Glenrothes around 9.15pm on Tuesday, May 19.
“The death is being treated as unexplained pending the outcome of a post mortem examination, although there are no apparent suspicious circumstances.
“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
