Two men fled when police found £150,000 worth of drugs in their car.
The pair ran away when the cannabis was seized during a routine stop by officers in Kirkcaldy.
Police pulled over a black Vauxhall Insignia in the town's Strathkinnes Road at 12.30pm on Tuesday and made the haul as they searched the vehicle.
Detective Inspector Scott Davidson, of Kirkcaldy Police Station, said: "This was a significant recovery and our enquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible."

The men were both in their mid-20s to mid-30s and may have been Eastern European.
One was wearing all black clothing and the other had a grey top with a high visibility vest over it.
