Eleven-year-old Maggie Duncan raised more than £1,320 for the Stroke Association by running a 5k in memory of her much-loved granny, who passed away in 2018.
Lockdown prompted the Cupar schoolgirl to take up running for the first time, undertaking a couch to 5km programme over the last two months.
The Castlehill Primary School pupil said: “I’d done no running at all. I found it quite hard but I’ve gone longer and longer. I’ll keep going.”
Maggie had planned to run 5km at the Edinburgh Marathon Festival, which was cancelled but undeterred, completed her run along the Kingask/Foxton trail near her home.
Accompanied by parents Fay and Calum, Maggie’s grit and determination carried her through to a commendable finish time of 38 minutes and 48 seconds, returning to Dalgairn supported by family, friends and neighbours.
She said: “I am really proud of myself and want to thank everyone for their support and their donations.
“I hope to keep on running, when things get back to normal, I could aim for a 5km Parkrun.”
