Children from a Fife primary school brought teachers to tears with a heartfelt message of thanks for their efforts during lockdown.
Around 160 pupils at Canmore Primary in Dunfermline, showed their appreciation for staff with a six-minute video message to say thank you for continuing to support them during the ongoing schools closure.
Each child held up a sign in a series of photographs and short video clips, which were edited together by P7 pupil Alexander Staff.
Ruth Smithson, whose children Hannah and Ishbel are in P7 and P4, co-ordinated the project and was delighted with the outcome.
The video is below:
“Canmore has been really lucky,” she said.
“The children have been missing their friends and their teachers but we have a computer interface set-up called Seesaw, a little bit like Facebook for school, and it’s a lovely way to see everybody and talk to each other.”
Ruth said the teachers had gone above and beyond the call of duty over the last few weeks and that the video was a good way to say thanks.
“The kids thought it was a lovely idea and when it was finished the staff had many a tearful moment.
“They were all very touched.
“It’s not just the teachers. All the other staff at the school appreciated it as well.”
Teacher Jill Thomson said the video had been a lovely surprise.
“It was very emotional to watch and many staff had tears in their eyes,” she said.
“What a lucky staff we are to have such thoughtful and caring parents and pupils.
“It must have taken a lot of time and effort to do.
“The staff would like to thank everyone who was involved for all their hard work.”
